The National Space Science Agency organized its first of a series of workshops at the Gifted Students Center – Ministry of Education, presented by Mr. Ebrahim Al Burshaid, as part of NSSA’s community and outreach program.

The purpose of the held workshops is primarily to inform and inspire curiosity among the children and youth and stoke interest in exploring the universe starting with where they are as learners who appreciate, enjoy and commit to the steppingstone to space.

Mr. Ebrahim presented NSSA first lecture on 28th October 2019, titled “The Young Astronomer”, where many concepts were introduced starting with the general space subjects, then satellites and finally satellite applications.

Mr. Ebrahim commented “During the workshop held at the Gifted Students Center, I ensured a dynamic interaction approach to develop a vibrant, productive and memorable course. The students have shown great interest and enthusiasm, and this is what matters…to awaken space consciousness among young students”.

Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri, NSSA CEO commented “Our main goal through community and outreach programs is exposing the nation to or educating them about the latest trends in space science, technologies and applications, discoveries and exploration activities. Events vary depending on the targeted audience and many factors are considered such as age group and level of knowledge.”

NSSA will be completing many community initiatives in the coming years to increase public awareness of the space industry, strengthen public support for space science technology and applications, build NSSA brand identity, and the services it provides, promote innovation and research in space science and applications and finally attract and prepare national citizens to become pioneers in the field of space science.
