NSSA participates in the APRSAF 2020 online forum

NSSA represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency (APRSAF) online 2020 forum, which launched its virtual edition on Thursday, 19 November 2020, under the theme 'Sharing Space Visions Beyond Distance'. NSSA received an invitation from the Japanese Space Agency to participate in this distinguished activity. It was represented by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al-Aseeri, and by the Head of the Strategic Planning & Project Administration, Ms. Amal Jassem Albenali. A few of NSSA's engineers and technicians, each within his/her own discipline, also took part in several panel discussions.

NSSA Participates in the International Space Congress (IAC 2020)

The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the 71st International Space Congress (IAC 2020), which was held online for the first time by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) on 12–14 October 2020. NSSA received an invitation from the IAF to participate in that important international activity. It was represented by Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al-Aseeri; Board of Directors Adviser, Mohamed Jasim Al-Othman; and Chief of Strategic Planning and Projects, Amal AlBinali. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Sector Summit was launched online a few days ago. Its purpose was to highlight the most important lessons learned over the last period of 2020 and the best means which organizations could follow through on the use of the electronic cloud provided by AWS. The intention was to provide modern services and to improve the methods followed to carry out various tasks in a way that increases the quality of service and improves the satisfaction of customers and beneficiaries.

NSSA participates in Space Economy Leaders Conference

On the occasion of the first meeting of the space economy leaders of the current G20 session, under the chairmanship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), received an invitation from the Saudi Space Agency to participate in the first meeting of the space economy leaders. It was held on 7th October this year to coincide with World Space Week. Many pertinent agencies participated in the event, represented by heads of space agencies in the G20, the Economic Cooperation and Development of the United Nations (OECD), the United Nations Office of Space Affairs (UNOOSA), and the space agencies which are members of the Arab Group for Cooperation Space, and, finally, consulting organizations, companies, economic entities, and experts in the same sector.

Joint Seminar between NSSA and UAE Space Agency

The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Space Agency are keen to enhance relationships with strategic partners. Under the patronage of H.E. Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Bahrain's Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Space Agency (NSSA), and in the presence of Dr. Mohamed E. Al-Aseeri, NSSA's Chief Executive Officer, an information seminar was jointly arranged with the UAE Space Agency. Delivered using online visual technology, the event was held under the patronage of Her Excellency Sarah bint Yousef Al-Ameeri, the UAE's Minister of State for Advanced Technology, Leader of the UAE's Mars Discovery Team ‘Hope Probe’, in the presence of Eng. Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al-Ahbabi, Director-General of the UAE Space Agency as well as Dr. Khalid Al-Hashimi and Eng. Nasser Al-Hammadi, representatives from the UAE Space Agency.
