The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the first meeting of the Arab Space Cooperation Group to be held outside the sister country, the United Arab Emirates on November 8th of this year, on the sidelines of the Bahrain International Air Show 2022.

The Arab member states of the Arab Space Cooperation Group were invited to attend and participate, and a unified special platform will be allocated to all member states from agencies and space bodies to present their current and future achievements and projects, and the platform will also include a presentation of the achievements and projects of the group.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al-Aseeri, CEO of the National Space Science Agency, said: “The holding of the meeting of the Arab Space Cooperation Group in the Kingdom of Bahrain is an important step in the march of the National Space Science Agency and its contribution to highlighting the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the space sector at the Arab and international levels, and it is also a valuable opportunity for the leaders of the space sector in the Arab Member States to attend the Bahrain International Air Show 2022, in which a number of prestigious space agencies and major specialized companies participate.”

He stressed that the existence of a unified platform for Member States will allow participants in the exhibition from different countries of the world to see closely the achievements of the Arab member countries of the Group and to identify the most prominent current and future projects, which may contribute to building new strategic partnerships that serve the efforts of developing the space sector in the Arab countries.

This year’s Bahrain International Air Show will witness the launch of the first specialized space forum in the Kingdom of Bahrain, in which representatives of Arab and foreign space agencies will participate, where the forum will discuss topics related to the development of the space sector at the public and private levels.
