The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) has signed a cooperation, information and knowledge-sharing agreement with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology of the Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Center for Space, Advanced Technology and Intelligence in the Field of Space Science and Technology, on 25th October 2022.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by H.E. The Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication, Mohamed bin Thamer AlKaabi, chairman of the NSSA Board of Directors, and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman.

The agreement aims to set the foundation for the collaboration between the two entities in different potential areas related to space science technology and applications, including, not limited to the following:

  • Initiating joint space projects for peaceful purposes.
  • Exchange of studies related to space systems and satellites.
  • Conducting joint space research and technological projects.
  • Capacity building and exchange of visits.
  • Organizing joint events in various space fields.

Dr. Al Aseeri commented “We are very keen to start initiatives and projects with the Center for Space, Advanced Technology and Intelligence in the Field of Space Science and Technology, of the Sultanate of Oman, in order to contribute to the development of the fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman in the field of space science and technology”.
