NSSA Senior Space Data Analyst, Ms. Aysha Alhajeri, won second place in the team of which she participated in the Climate Innovation Initiative event, which was organized by the Supreme Council for the Environment between March and June 2022. 40 specialists from various official authorities and relevant sectors participated in this event, and they were distributed among 8 work teams. The initiative aimed to educate the participants by involving them in training workshops, lectures and field visits so that each team could present a new innovative idea to solve the problem of climate change that supports the Kingdom of Bahrain’s plan to reach zero neutrality by finding effective ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2060, and to be the challenge and competition between them in innovation to win one of the top three.
The closing ceremony was held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel on Thursday morning, July 28, 2022, in the presence of senior officials and specialists in the field of environment and climate from various government agencies and relevant private companies, including Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Aluminum Bahrain Company (Alba), Agriculture Agency, National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) and many others. During the ceremony, all official sponsors and participants in this initiative were honored for the efforts made throughout the past period.
On her participation as one of the members of the second place winning team, Senior Space Data Analyst Alhajeri said: “This achievement is not new or strange to Bahraini youth, but rather a demonstration of their awareness and their rapid and positive interaction with various global crises, especially what concerns the safety of the planet. As young people, we are always keen to highlight our scientific and cognitive capabilities and competence in all fields to put the imprint that befits the Kingdom of Bahrain in all internal and external forums.
She concluded by extending her sincere thanks and gratitude to the NSSA, headed by the Chief Executive Officer, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Al-Aseeri, for the continuous support and encouragement to represent the Agency in such honorable forums and to prove the presence of distinguished Bahraini youth, and further look forward to achieving more successes and achievements in the near future to serve the Kingdom of Bahrain.
