H.E. Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Space Science Agency headed the delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain participating in the official visit to the United Kingdom, which was coordinated in cooperation with the UK Space Agency, following the Memorandum of Understanding signed by both parties on 11th of September 2019, to cooperate on civil space activities for their mutual benefit and considering the common interest in the use of space technology for peaceful purposes.

The Minister was accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri, NSSA CEO, and Dr. Mohamed Al Othman, Advisor to the Board of Directors.

The visit program included holding official meetings with governmental institutions and centers specialized in the field of space and related applications, field visits to facilities to observe the latest technologies used in operating the ground stations. The visit also include organizing several meetings with a group of private sector companies operating in the field of space and its sciences to get an update on the latest developments and global trend in this sector, and to discuss aspects of cooperation to implement future projects that contribute to achieving the goals of the NSSA.
