Employees Excel in Artificial Intelligence in the Russian Federation

Two employees of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), Engineer Muneera Al Malki and Technician Shaima Al Meer, participated in a training programme entitled 'Foundations of Artificial Intelligence', recently organised by the University of Saint Petersburg in the Russian Federal Republic. Their participation in this course was a result of NSSA's keen interest to achieve the directives of His Majesty the King to give more attention to future sciences, including space sciences, technologies and artificial intelligence, and an effort on the part of NSSA to enable its own national young cadres to excel in such sciences.

Bahrain to Launch its first satellite before October 2021

Within the framework of his keenness and close follow-up on the work progress of Bahrain Space Team, H.E. Eng. Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), chaired a meeting that was attended by engineer Dr. Mohamed Nasser Al Ahbabi, Director-General of the UAE Space Agency, engineer Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al-Aseeri, Chief Executive Officer of NSSA and a number of senior officials of both parties, together with Bahrain Space Team currently present at the sisterly state of the United Arab Emirates. The meeting reviewed the latest developments on the progress of the team's work and research projects, and on the challenges faced in their study of current circumstances with the aim of overcoming obstacles.

NSSA represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency (APRSAF) online 2020 forum, which launched its virtual edition on Thursday, 19 November 2020, under the theme 'Sharing Space Visions Beyond Distance'. NSSA received an invitation from the Japanese Space Agency to participate in this distinguished activity. It was represented by the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al-Aseeri, and by the Head of the Strategic Planning & Project Administration, Ms. Amal Jassem Albenali. A few of NSSA's engineers and technicians, each within his/her own discipline, also took part in several panel discussions.

NSSA Participates in the International Space Congress (IAC 2020)

The National Space Science Agency (NSSA) represented the Kingdom of Bahrain at the 71st International Space Congress (IAC 2020), which was held online for the first time by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) on 12–14 October 2020. NSSA received an invitation from the IAF to participate in that important international activity. It was represented by Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohamed Ebrahim Al-Aseeri; Board of Directors Adviser, Mohamed Jasim Al-Othman; and Chief of Strategic Planning and Projects, Amal AlBinali. NSSA participates in Space Economy Leaders Conference

On the occasion of the first meeting of the space economy leaders of the current G20 session, under the chairmanship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, represented by the National Space Science Agency (NSSA), received an invitation from the Saudi Space Agency to participate in the first meeting of the space economy leaders. It was held on 7th October this year to coincide with World Space Week. Many pertinent agencies participated in the event, represented by heads of space agencies in the G20, the Economic Cooperation and Development of the United Nations (OECD), the United Nations Office of Space Affairs (UNOOSA), and the space agencies which are members of the Arab Group for Cooperation Space, and, finally, consulting organizations, companies, economic entities, and experts in the same sector.
